For small and solo providers who bill insurance
Get paid for the care you give.
Tell Paid Buddy what happened at a visit, in your own words. It builds a correct insurance claim, shows you why every line is there, and helps you send it, track it and fix it when it bounces.
See the demo as a counselor, a chiropractor or a midwife. It needs no sign-in and every client in it is made up.
Free during the pilot, then $39 a month. For Texas practices for now: Texas Medicaid and its health plans, Medicare and private insurance. Tell us your state.
- You read and sign every line
- Your clients' names stay on your device
- Not billing or legal advice
Who it is for
Made for practices that bill on their own.
You bill insurance yourself, or with a small team. Paid Buddy fits the way you already work.
Therapists and counselors
Licensed counselors, social workers, family therapists and psychologists. Intakes, 30 to 60 minute sessions, family sessions and crisis care, in person or by video.
Midwives
Nurse-midwives, licensed and certified professional midwives, and birth centers. Prenatal visits, births at home or a birth center, and postpartum care.
Chiropractors
Adjustments counted by spinal region, minutes of exercise and hands-on work, and the active care notes Medicare and Medicaid ask for.
More kinds of care
More is coming. Tell us the kind of care you bill, write to us.
How it works
Four steps, a few minutes.
Say what happened
Write or say what happened at the session, the adjustment or the birth, the way you would tell a colleague.
Your clients stay on your device
Names, birthdays, insurance numbers and addresses never leave it. The AI only sees things like "45 minute session by video", "three regions adjusted" or "39 weeks, birth at home".
Read and sign every line
Each line has a plain reason and its source. Tick each one, then sign. You are the provider who certifies the claim, and nothing is sent before you sign.
Send it, track it, fix it
Save the upload file for your clearinghouse (the service that passes claims on to insurers), or print the red form. Track every claim in one place. A denial gets its reasons in plain words, and an appeal letter is drafted for you.
Needs your read Session 3
Individual therapy, 45 minutes
Why: your words say a 45 minute session, which is in the 38 to 52 minute band for this code.
Source: the rule page for this line, with its date.
Privacy by design
Your clients are never on our server.
- Names, birthdays, addresses, phone numbers, insurance numbers and visit dates live only in the encrypted vault on your device.
- Before anything goes to the AI, your words are checked. Names become plain role words, like "the client" or "visit 3". If the check is not sure, it refuses.
- The AI answers with a quote from your words for each fact. It never picks codes. Codes come from rules on your device, and each rule has a dated source.
- Our server holds your account, your plan and how many AI reads you used today. You sign in with Connections.
- Claims, upload files and payment files stay on your device and with your clearinghouse.
- There is no sync. Your backup is one encrypted file you keep, wherever you choose. On the web, forget your passphrase and nobody, including us, can open the vault.

For maternity care, from 1 January 2027
Maternity billing changes in 2027.
On 1 January 2027 the AMA removes 17 maternity codes. Prenatal and postpartum visits are billed as ordinary office visits, with modifier TH, and labor is billed by the day. Medicare has not yet said whether it will follow. Its decision is expected around 1 November 2026.
Paid Buddy keeps both sets of rules, each with its date and source, and uses the right set for each date of service. A 2027 Medicare claim gets a check until Medicare decides.
